Windows 7 features

A few years ago we started asking PC owners what they wanted from Windows 7.

Home Group: Takes the headache out of sharing files and printers on a home network.

Jump Lists: Speedy access to your favorite pictures, songs, websites, and documents.

Snap: A quick (and fun!) new way to resize and compare windows on your desktop.

Windows Live Essentials: A suite of great programs in one free download. Like Mail, Movie Maker, Photo Gallery, and more.

Windows Taskbar: Better thumbnail previews, easier-to-see icons, and more ways to customize.

Full 64-bit support: Windows 7 makes the most of powerful 64-bit PCs, the new desktop standard.

Performance improvements: Designed to sleep and resume quicker, be less memory hungry, and spot USB devices faster.

Still people die from malnutrition

Malnutrition is not the same thing as hunger, although they often go together. People who are chronically malnourished lack the nutrients needed for proper health and development. Someone can be malnourished for a long or short period of time, and the condition may be mild or severe. People who are malnourished are more likely to get sick and, in severe cases, might even die.

Crises impact on economy

The impacts of the global financial crisis on poverty and income distribution in developing countries have proved difficult to track because real-time data are typically not available.
In Bangladesh and the Philippines, where the crisis has led to a slowdown but not a reversal in GDP growth, poverty is expected to decline at a slower pace due to the crisis. In 2010, the poverty rate is expected to be higher by 1.2 and 1.5 percentage points than what it would have been without the crisis in Bangladesh and the Philippines respectively, which translates to approximately 1.4 and 2 million additional poor. In Mexico, GDP actually contracted by nearly 7% in 2009 and is expected to grow by just 3% in 2010. As a result, poverty rate is projected to rise by nearly 4 percentage points between 2008 and 2010.

Public perception on pollution

The public is becoming increasingly aware of the interactions and conflicts between industry and the environment. Events such as the 1989 oil spill from the tanker Exxon Valdez off Prince William Sound in Alaska—one of the most publicized and studied environmental tragedies—have highlighted the growing significance of maintaining a healthy environment while improving how corporations operate. Business responses to environmental influences fall within a wide spectrum of actions and inactions. On one side are businesses that attempt to decrease any negative impacts their activities have on the environment.

Silly mistake causes big hazardous

Oil spills happen when people make mistakes or are careless and cause an oil tanker to leak oil into the ocean. There are a few more ways an oil spill can occur. Equipment breaking down may cause an oil spill. If the equipment breaks down, the tanker may get stuck on shallow land. When they start to drive the tanker again, they can put a hole in the tanker causing it to leak oil.
Illegal dumpers are people that will dump crude oil into the oceans because they do not want to spend money on decomposing their waste oil. Because they won’t spend money on breaking up the oil (decomposing it) they will dump oil into the oceans, which is illegal.

Crush for the shoes

One thing that is as inevitable as the changing of the seasons as they cycle through their yearly progress is the guarantee that I will have at least one unattainable*  shoe-crush during each of these seasons.   With Manolo Blahnik’s black-suede Kahika boots, I may have found said crush for this fall. For shoe lovers, shopping for shoes is the best. But when we're not shopping, we love to look at photos and read about the shoes we adore - plus it's cheaper than actually buying each pair.

Lopez perfume ad

Jennifer Lopez promotes her new scent Deseo, which is due out in February. Got a pretty nifty bottle shape, if you ask me! It’s in the shape of a? Diamond in the rough. On why she wanted to create a new perfume. Due to be released in October, Jennifer Lopez's latest fragrance is called "Love & Glamour". It is impossible for this woman to look bad! J.Lo is certainly the queen of perfumes.
